Newcastle United
SHEFFIELD Wednesday scored for the first time since early November to hold runaway Coca-Cola Championship leaders Newcastle to a 2-2 draw at Hillsborough .
The home side put Newcastle under pressure in the opening stages, without creating a clear-cut chance until they opened the scoring after 14 minutes.
Luke Varney met a cross from James O'Connor with a close-range header.
Kevin Nolan equalized with a header from Danny Guthrie's cross and Shola Ameobi put Newcastle in front as the visitors scored twice in eight minutes.
O'Connor, however, struck a 59th-minute equalizer as the Owls earned a welcome point to the delight of McAuley.
