Sheffield Wednesday secured an impressive away win as they thrashed Hartlepool to move top of League One. The Owls took the lead when Paul Murray's attempted clearance deflected into his own net, and then Neil Mellor crossed for Giles Coke to volley home. Mellor stroked into the top corner for their third, and earned a penalty when keeper Scott Flinders took him down.
Marcus Tudgay converted the spot-kick, and sub Clinton Morrison shot from the edge of the area to complete the rout.
